Associate Partner presentation
The ARCI Association is an organization of social promotion that operates with approximately 1,000,000 members, 140 local committees and 20 regional committees. A special focus of its action is devoted to the intervention with vulnerable population (prisoners, children, immigrants, drug addicts, mentally and physically disabled, Roma and Sinti, etc). This intervention is developed through the promotion of voluntary and self-financed social enterprise projects, which are funded by local, national and European institutions and private foundations.
More specifically, ARCI has an extensive knowledge and experience in the field of migration and provides support services and guidance to vulnerable categories of population as migrants, Roma, refugees and asylum seekers who are victims of violence or torture, etc.
The ARCI Association work in the following areas :
- Management of reception centres for asylum seeking children
- Research on the vulnerable categories kept at the Italian detention centres for migrants
- Management of the National Free Number for Refugees and Asylum Seekers

DIeS Department is a research and teaching centre of the University of Rome, Sapienza, Faculty of Sociology. DIeS has been involved in several Italian and international leading research projects concerning: Society and history; Public institutions and public policy; Information Society.
DIeS hosts a Phd. Programme in Social Systems, Organisation and Public Policy Analysis (SSOAPP). The Department offers three Masters degrees in the following subjects: Management of education: training, innovation and learning (MAESTRIA); Management in Local Governance (MAGOL); Management and Innovation in the Provision of Health Care (MIAS)

Prof. Enrigo Pugliese
The project coordinator for this unit, Prof. Enrico Pugliese is currently Full Professor of Sociology of work at the DIeS Department. He has been chairman of the Institute for research on Population and Social Policies of the National research Centre (IRPPS-CNR). He has extensive experience working in this field both in academic and in other institutions. He has taken part in several national and international research groups and in particular he has supervised several national research projects on international migration and migration policies.
LLuis Francesc Peris Cancio
Lluis Francesc Peris Cancio is a PhD Student in Social Systems, Organisation and Public Policy Analysis, DIeS Department. From his position at the Children Protection Unit of the Municipality of Rome, Lluis Peris has an extensive experience working with unaccompanied and separated children.
